About the artist

Light, composition, creativity, attention to details and simplicity are the factors that I love in a photograph. Born in Padua, Italy in 1963 I have been surrounded by art since my youth. I believe that such an environment has played an important role on my interest in photography. It is thanks to my wife that I developed a passion for photography.

Before taking a picture I consider what I want to represent with it. A picture must tell the beauty of a place or the importance of a moment to remember. I am meticulous on the research of the subject, on the composition of the frame and, most importantly, I am always looking for the correct light. I love to study the reflections of light on the water. I can not describe the sensations I feel when I shoot at twilight in complete silence.

Initially my approach to photography was mainly technical. I wanted to experiment and imitate the famous photographers. I read hundreds of books. Many times I was unsatisfied with my pictures. But this was an essential phase that allowed me to find my own way of taking pictures. Now my approach to photography is more natural and serene. I am very confident and I know what I want from a picture.

Although landscape photography is a great part of my portfolio I very much love portraits photography and shooting events. In these occasions (e.g. weddings, graduations, birthday parties) I carefully study the ambient light and the location at least a day before the event. I also love studio photography where I can control and experiment with the artificial/natural light as, for example, in studio & macro photography.

I have shot thousands of pictures in all fields and have many projects on the way. Every time I prepare for a new project my enthusiasm increases. I take pictures for passion, as my main activity is medical science.
